Anyways, Light Scaling "grayscales" everything if you can see the star from closeby, it "bluescales" everything when you can't see the star (either planet is between you and the star, or you're vimana-ing to a different star), and if you're far away from the star, it will slowly turn everything into the star's colour (even if that should actually be the other way around, but meh.. )
Advanced Lightscaling turns the planets and your SD into the colour of the star.. It also makes everything transparant-ish.. GIves a pretty weird effect.....
